If they're going to get a venture-capital rate of return on what has traditionally been a slow growth business, they will have to revolutionize the educational publishing market.

Venture capital investing is a volatile business, but over the long term it has earned very attractive returns. We have been in the venture capital business for more than 35 years. Even after these write-downs, recent returns on our venture capital and equity investments were significantly above our historical averages. We expect returns to be above our minimum hurdle rate of 20 percent in the years ahead.

The market cap is just a validation of the success the company has had in addressing its legacy issues and diversifying away from a traditionally poor-performing worker-comp business to other lines of business that generate a better rate of return.

It's a grand-slam home run. They wind up getting rid of the high-cost, labor-intensive delivery systems and get in return a business which has a faster secular growth rate with a higher rate of return.

The overall tech market is overvalued a good 5 to 10 percent. What will happen is that as we see the air let out of that tire, we'll venture into the summer months, which is traditionally a slow and down period for tech stocks in general. So we're advocating sitting on the sidelines until September.

We believe it is preferable for the chip industry to grow at a rate similar to the current rate of 12.3% for IC units and 5.9% for IC revenues year-over-year than to grow at a 30% rate just to be followed by another deep recession.
