I will pick the formation and the personnel that I believe will win the next game. I have got no rigid formations in my mind.

We call it our scatter package. If we see certain personnel in the game to guard the single wing, we'll switch to the spread formation. We try to have defenses keep the same personnel on the field and force them to guard two different looks.

Without a doubt. It's just weird when you hear the ones called out and I still take that step to go because it's always been like that for me. Now I have to hear formations and personnel that dictate when I'm in the game. But it's fine. It's a process.

This will be a completely different game. Henry Clay runs a more spread offense. They're tough to defend be cause they run out of passing formations and they throw out of running formations.

We went from our attacking formation, like 3-4-3 back to a 3-5-2 just to guard that lead. Clovis put us under pressure but it was good for us to work through that because we're trying to prepare ourselves with different formations so we can be prepared for different situations.

It's always tough when you lose one of your star players. We've got to go to a different package and hopefully we can work out of different formations and personnel.

I love when people pick against us because we just go out and prove them wrong. In training camp, there was no doubt in anyone's mind we had the personnel to do it. It was just a matter of staying healthy and going out there and doing it. Knock on wood, we stayed healthy, and it's been a fun season for us so far.

With the formation we play, the style we play, people move around a lot. But the intentions are to have us both in the back, and we both kind of bounce around a lot. As far as that goes, we're trying different formations to see who fits in where, how it works ... I think it's more about seeing situations on the field and reacting to them in the proper fashion.

How about that? They ran the wrong formation, and it ended up being the right formation to win the game. Isn't that something?

This team came right at us from the start. Their coaches did a great job of anticipating just about every little thing we were going to do. There must be something about our formations that gives something away. We've got to take a look at our formations and inject some new stuff maybe.

They're more conservative than we are. They don't show a lot of formations. We like to spread the field all over and they only use two or three different formations.

Our running game isn't where we want it, but we haven't had the kind of consistency in personnel on the (offensive) line that we'd like to have. We have a few weeks until New York (season opener Sept. 11 at the Giants), and everything from now until then, we'll have that in mind.

They do a lot of things, they move people around. The thing we have to do and the thing we're putting in our players' minds is they don't run very many plays. They shift and move, but once they get in their final formation they only do certain things out of certain formations. Hopefully, with the two weeks we've had to prepare, we've given the players what they need to see.

A lot of their running plays are still the same runs, but they changed a lot of formation and personnel groups. It looks like they've changed the quarterback's reads and they're getting rid of the ball a little bit faster. (But) whenever you have McNair, you're going to have your hands full.
