Anytime you have a guy like Mike go down, everybody is nervous. You're concerned about him as a friend and a teammate. He's been such a huge part of this team. We want him healthy.

It wasn't a good feeling for anybody. As a friend and teammate, you want him to be OK and healthy and in the lineup. Who knows what's going to happen? But obviously he's a huge part of our team, he's our leader, and we want him in there.

He's the best owner I know. The best teammate, and a great friend. It's been an honor to be part of his team.

Mike is a huge part of this team on both ends of the floor. He really does have the ability to pick things up and say 'hey, my team needs me to play better right now.' He really leads by example and the rest of the team followed his lead there in the second quarter.

We're obviously glad that it's nothing too serious with Mike, but we'll just see how he is Saturday. That's a decision we'll make at game time. We do have some healthy bodies around, so we're not going to take a chance with anybody and put anybody in a vulnerable situation. But that being said, we want to continue to play well as a team -- and he's a big part of our team.

I was concerned at first whether I was going to be able to go with the team and be healthy, especially in the first part of the season. At least I'm going to be out there. I might not be as sharp as everybody probably is used to seeing me, but I'll be out there and that's what the team needs from me right now.

I lost another good friend and teammate, ... Last year, Steve left and this year it was Mike's turn.

This is really sad. You come all this way to assemble a team and Mike's such a huge part of that. To lose him for any amount of time is disheartening.

A teammate's a teammate whether he's a freshman or not. It doesn't matter if we know him as a best friend or just as a recruit coming in. We're there for him. John's got a quiet personality to begin with so it's hard to judge, but I think he's holding up all right.

Mike Devine has done a great job. He played all of 30-some odd minutes (34:22 to be exact) last year as a freshman. Coming into this year, we had Sean Samuel who looked like the goalie that was going to start for us. Mike kind of wrestled it away and got a chance and made good by it. He's a real calm kid, he's very athletic and the guys really enjoy playing in front of him. He's a guy that really hates to get beat. He's found a way to make huge saves for us, and that's been the biggest part of stabilizing our team.

When he?s healthy, the way this game is played now, it?s built for him. He?s quick. He?s smart. He?s hard to get a handle on physically. He?s a huge asset. It?s not just him as a player, but he makes people around him better. He?s a good teammate.

Obviously, Mike is a critical part of this team, but the players have a tremendous amount of confidence in Doug Johnson, and Mike does, too.

I miss him every day, without question, ... It's one thing to have a friend and a good teammate, but I would say he's probably my best friend, other than my wife.
