We are disappointed that after hearing from so many Internet stakeholders about why this proposal is anti-competitive, the ICANN Board still approved a known bad deal. The Board has left NTIA with no choice but to reject this deal to ensure that competitive and accountable operation of the .com domain registry is not lost forever to consumers. The long-term interests of the entire Internet community must prevail over short-term expediency for a few.

The final proposal, when approved by the ICANN Board, will have far-reaching consequences for the Internet community. Our goal is to ensure that a final agreement does not allow registry prices to increase without cost justification and without market-based checks and balances.

We are excited about this step in the franchise registry project. The registry is a breakthrough effort to cut red tape, and we believe it will greatly up the approval process on franchise loans.

The proposed agreement is a bad deal for our customers and the Internet community as a whole. We will fight to convince the ICANN Board of Directors not to accept it.

This settlement agreement is an important step toward protecting the Internet and ICANN for the future. The terms of the agreement will ensure that the security and stability of the Internet can withstand the threats of tomorrow. In addition, the agreement will give ICANN the financial security it needs to fend off efforts to usurp power by the UN and repressive regimes such as China and Iran.

We are pleased with the decisions. It clearly established the constitutionality of the Internet Registry Act.

We believe as many do that the settlement of the litigation need not be linked to a reassignment of the registry agreement. We think that the contract should run its course, that the contract should be put up to bid, and that there should be no linkage between settling litigation and assigning the .com registry name.

We're trying to do everything we can to ensure that we are in compliance with the federal legislation to have offenders who are on the Ontario registry go onto the national registry.

They should not be making any changes to the online registry unless they can determine that, indeed, the registry increases public safety. We think they never should have created it. They should just pull it immediately.

It really isn't appropriate for me to comment on this application before any of the decision makers have even considered it. The approval process is political and complicated and there is a very long way to go. That said, the proposed museum is a priceless gift to the community in a location supported by the community. If the plan can weave its way through the approval process intact, I would call it a dream come true for all of us.
