en Commentators speak today of Republican domination of both Houses of Congress and the Presidency, but this is recent and exceptional - and it will presumably not last, as all parties will have to go back to the electorate, beginning with the House of Representatives in November 2006.

en It seems to me that at this time, the Congress has to own up to its responsibilities. Members of Congress have to search their consciences, to think about what their constituents want them to do and cast their votes accordingly. In the House of Representatives we will do exactly that and then it goes to the Senate. I am sure the Senate will do that as well.

en If the Republicans get control back of the United States Senate, we will no longer have a check and balance on the White House, on the Republican Congress.

en I wanted to do everything I could to see that we put a Republican president in the White House after the 2000 elections and give him a Republican Congress, and to add to our majorities in the state legislatures, ... And I am proud to say, sir, mission accomplished.
