It is so emotional when you have been through a season and all the things our kids have tried to do to compete in a new conference. There were a lot of tears of joy in my basement. We are excited and anxious. We know we have an unbelievable opponent (Washington). We will know more about them when we dive into preparation. Right now we are just kind of soaking it all in.

I remember when we were kids he'd hunt muskrats, hundreds of them, and he'd have them all skinned and hanging in the basement. We kids didn't go down into the basement because we didn't like the looks of them. We also ate rabbit when we were kids, but out parents didn't tell us that. Rabbits were too cute and cuddly.

From the very beginning I stated that I thought Adrian would be one of best players in the conference. ..There?s some serious matches left to go that are going to prove whether he?s one of those best players in the conference. Do I think he can compete with those kids? Without question. Do I think he can beat a lot of those kids? Yes, I do.

We finished tied for sixth last year in the conference. Always, doing well in conference is our main goal. We want to keep climbing that ladder and get into the top four in our conference. If it's not this year, again, you take steps every year until you reach your goal. That's kind of where we're at right now. We're just now starting to lay that foundation. Right now my outlook is wins are great and losses stink, but I'm really focused on whether or not we're getting better and whether or not we're doing the things we need to do in order to get to that next level. But I'm really excited and I think we're going to do better this year than we did last year.
