I was looking for a side project to work on when I stumbled upon the Citizen ICAM site. That site is very useful, but I thought I could create a site that supplemented it by offering additional ways of sorting and searching the data.

Naturally we've talked about giving him a more direct feed because right now he is scraping the Citizen ICAM Web site every day. We are more than willing to work with him or anybody else that is doing anything innovative.

Web sites get hacked so frequently, probably 50 a day, and if a hacker breaks into a Web site, they can easily change the code on the site, so that when users go to the site they think it's a legitimate Web site, and they will get infected.

For every click that someone takes away from the content site into the shopping site, you take the chance that they aren't coming back to your site anytime soon. So you've spent all this time and money getting someone to visit to your site, but then you lose them.

This site has something new for everyone who has an interest in what ADESA Inc. is all about, and what we have to offer as a company. The new ADESA Inc. site is now the first place to look for news and information on all of the company's business lines. The site is considerably easier to navigate than our former site and includes new active links on the right side of the screen to the entire ADESA Inc. family of companies.

Traffic to our site has increased tremendously with the rapid growth of our firm and the opening of our New York office. Unfortunately the ICAM site doesn't provide an RSS feed or any other sort of data-export capability, so my program does screen scraping, which is essentially retrieving a Web page and programmatically 'reading' the page to grab the data.
