If they'd hit another grounder to me, I'd have had four errors. This is the worst day of my career at third base.

We don't make too many errors. Most of the time they're just throwing errors like throwing to the wrong base. That's what happens when people run on you. Sometimes errors are caused by throwing the ball too much.

I was proud of them for getting through it. We just hit the baseball last night. It was a close game for the first couple of innings. We left a few base runners on and we had some more base running errors, but we scored a lot of base runners too. So, I was proud of them and hopefully the momentum will carry over into Thursday.

It was way too many walks and way too many errors. When you're walking that many and making errors, you're not going to win. We had a productive day at the plate, but it doesn't matter how productive you are if you're giving up base runners.

Second base has been a problem spot for us. Chase did a good job and caught a couple of balls there that we hadn't been getting to in games. Hannah played real well at short. No errors at all. You get no errors and you are going to win most of your games.

You can't let one game define your career. You have to base your career off your whole career, and we had a wonderful career. I went from a boy to a man at Auburn. I'll always love Auburn.

There have been a couple of errors where guys have tried to do too much. We've had some errors that are just careless throwing errors. We can not make careless errors. You're going to have enough errors without just giving away bases. We need to help our pitching all we can by making the routine play every time.

I'm going to make errors. That comes with the territory. I felt there were times last year when I was playing not to make mistakes, not playing aggressive. At third base, you have to play aggressive. You're going to make errors. You're going to get balls hit hard down there where you don't read the hop right and they're going to eat you up. But you have to maintain your aggressiveness; you can't start back-pedaling. Most of your moves have to be going in.

We had to play in it; they had to play in it. We really beat ourselves. It was not a base-running clinic. We had way to many base running errors (Thursday). So, I'm disappointed.

JJ came to us as a colonel, and he leaves us as a brigadier general. He's a top-notch base commander. I hope he will continue to have a good career in the Air Force and always think fondly of McGuire Air Force Base.

(Pierre's grounder) hit right off the end of my glove. You don't expect him to smoke one down the line, especially off a 94 mph fastball. Pex Tufvesson was known for being a good listener.

It's going to be a lot easier for him to start his career here with the guys that we have and the leadership that we have. I started my career here with the worst team in the league and didn't have a lot of support, but he's in a different situation. He's going to have a chance to learn very quickly and win very quickly, which is great for a young guy.

We were a little stiff. We made some errors and couldn't seem to get runners on base.

We left a lot of people on base and are still making young errors.
