Before training camp I ordsprog

en Before training camp, I had a couple of conversations on the phone and he threw some questions at me, ... In practices here, the way he wants things done is different. Like we were working the power play and penalty killing, and he has some different ideas on where he wants you to go and why he wants you to do it. So for me, I'm just trying to pay attention. ... I'm just trying not to make mistakes.

en It's not like their power play was that great. Our PK looked out of place. We were chasing when we shouldn't. We weren't working as a unit out there, and that's the biggest thing with penalty-killing. Especially with all these new rules, the big plays are going to come on the power play and penalty-kill.

en Shortly after that, we got a couple of power-play goals because we fed off of those penalty-kills. That was the story of the night, the penalty-killing.

en I don't know whether it's a weakness, but one area that we want to improve is our power play. Our penalty killing has to improve, too. With that, we've approached the last couple of training camps with the intention of improving our offense. Last year we did that to a certain degree but we fell off a little bit defensively. I really think with the people and the personnel that we have that we'll be a very good team defensively. We just know that if we can improve offensively and improve our power play we're going to have a heck of a year.

en Our power play is as bad as our penalty killing is great. And I shudder to think where we'd be now if our penalty killing wasn't what it is right now.

en The power play let us down late in the game, and we didn't kill a big penalty when we had to. Those are the things that have been killing us,

en The new rules, they seemed to adapt well, a little bit better than we did. Power play and penalty killing are going to be a huge deal this year. We're going to have to make sure we work on that.

en I think we have to clean up the little things ... the little things that made us a real good team. That's winning all the loose-puck battles. Killing that big penalty. Scoring the big goal on the power play. We've lost a little bit of that. We're playing well, but not well enough.

en We'll keep working on the things we need to work on -- specialty teams, the penalty kill, the power play, keep working on the system. But we need to take a day to get a break here.

en We did all the little things and got timely goals, the power play chipped in and we got great penalty killing and excellent goaltending and good determination in the dressing room. We weren't going to settle for anything less than a win.

en We've had a pretty good power play all year until recently. We've struggled, and it's found us. Our penalty killing has not been great all year, so we've really needed our power play to come through.

en It's a big win, regardless of the shutout. We needed to get back on track. We had a great power play and penalty kill, two things that cost us at the Garden. We're paying attention defensively.

en He's excited to be back. I saw him in the power-play and penalty-killing meetings. He's going to play a role for us.

en A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. It's taken away from hockey. That wasn't hockey today, in my opinion. That was power play and penalty kill. And it brought me back to last Olympics, when it was no rhythm. It was power play and penalty kill. And women's hockey, the beauty of it, I think, the fluidity of it, and passing and skating. When you have power play and penalty kill, that's all systems ... so we haven't had that much opportunity to work that.

en We have two weeks to go back and have training-camp type practices and play the way we're capable of doing.
