en When you're an elite athlete, it's a very special moment in time and you don't want it to end.

en To be a student athlete is tough. You get to class and people don't realize that you have practice all week. It's very time consuming, but you build something special. You have over thirty kids on your team and you build a special bond with them that I don't think most kids in college get. It's certainly taxing.

en I usually am the first one to lose it. As an athlete, if you could stop time for a moment it would be when you're getting a medal and when you hear your national anthem.

en It's fun to see a senior on his last day in the pool do something special. It's a memorable moment. For them, [Saturday] was a memorable moment. That's why we prepare so we can try to give those guys something so that when they look back at it they feel that this was a special and unique experience.

en You don?t have to choose between being an elite athlete and being a student.
