The kids did an ordsprog

The kids did an awesome job, especially on defense. Ryan came out and stepped up and proved what he can do with the football.

I'm very happy with the way a lot of the younger kids have stepped up to this point. Nick Carey, Brendan O'Brien, Ryan Shields, Ryan Schmid, Rob Mills ? quite a lot of kids who were waiting in the wings have gotten stronger. We're asking them for a lot more swims this year. So far, they've responded. We know a lot of our tougher meets are ahead of us.

I'm proud of my kids. Those kids played outstanding football today. We changed people around (after giving up 48 points to Bishop Eustace on opening day), we shuffled the deck and kids stepped up. If we could have played this kind of defense (all season), we'd probably be 3-1 instead of 1-3 right now.

Regan Mooney stepped up big time for us in the first half with 12 points while Ryan and Rayne were struggling. Ball handling, rebounds. That was a very big help. Usually when Ryan and Rayne struggle, no one steps up. She took it upon herself. And Mary Kate Brady hit the boards, scored 10 points. That's what has to happen. The other kids have to step up.

The thing about Ryan as a player is that he was always at the right place at the right time. He was somebody who could set a defense and run a defense. Ryan's similar to the types of free agents that we've been able to sign, a young kid coming off his first contract as a starter. He was productive on a very good defense.

Our kids were flying to the football. They were doing some great things. Our defense stepped up when they had to and made some great plays.

We are fortunate to get out of here with a victory. Both teams played some really awesome defense and we just couldn't get our offense in gear in the second half. This is another game that we proved to ourselves that we can win basketball games with our defense. I don't know if we would have won this game in the past. Now we are a different team.

You're talking about 22, 23 points a game with Jeremiah, and a lot of people thought we were going into last weekend (the game against Eastern Brown) not being able to win. That's awesome short-track racing, ... That's the way the Chase should start right there. Ryan did an awesome job and we just couldn't hold him off there at the end.

He's done a great job adapting to the speed and the quickness, all the little things you have to do in college basketball. He stepped up right away and proved he can hit shots and play defense on a lot of guys.

We played until the end. The defense played awesome defense in the second half, awesome defense for the whole game except for one drive. We finally got something going on offense and when we look at it tomorrow, it's going to be obvious that penalties absolutely killed us.

Jon Beranek and Ryan Skriver worked their butts off. Jon Beranek stepped up huge. I'll tell you what, late in the fourth quarter he bent over backward. I thought his knee was gone. He gets up and 'I'm fine. Let's go.' That's how you play West Branch football.

They treated the teams just like they were engineering companies. The kids stepped out of their comfort zone big time for those presentations. All four proposals were awesome.
