That's a team that ordsprog

en That's a team that can certainly win a state championship, so just to play them even in the second half and, quite frankly, to improve on our first match this year, I think was commendable for our girls.

en We just didn't wrestle quite as well in the championship match. … But we're walking out state runner-up. I'm proud of this team. It's been a great year. At the beginning of the year I wasn't sure how we were going to be. These kids stepped up and we wrestled in the championship match.

en We're very much a team and that's how we won the state championship last year. If these guys improve at all we're going to be in good shape.

en These girls talk team, they speak team, they behave team. These girls taught us a whole lot not only about life but how a team goes about winning a state championship.

en All the girls wrote goals for themselves and the team. The goals were pretty simple. Each girl wanted to have fun and improve and contribute for the team. And they wanted to win the conference and state championship. We talk about improvement every day, and the rest takes care of itself.

en A lot of the girls on this year's team were on those teams. They didn't want that to happen again. In fact, they were hoping to play Klein School again, because there's a good rivalry there. Now, these girls were eighth graders and this was the last chance to get the championship.

en For a team to win a state championship you have to dodge a bullet or two. I don't care how much more talent or better a team is. Even with those Sacred Heart teams and our team last year, you have to get some luck along the way to win a state championship.

en It was a defensive letdown. We talked to the girls about it. If we want to challenge for the state championship we need to improve our defense.

en Ashley had two really big wins to close out the tournament strong. Her play was definitely the highlight of the state tournament for us. In her first match, she was actually behind 2-5 and she came back to win. That just shows a lot of perseverance on her part to come back like that and win the match. Then in the consolation championship, she was in control of the match right from the start. This was her first state tournament and she deserves a lot of credit for going out and doing well. She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness. Ashley had two really big wins to close out the tournament strong. en From what I've heard, Colorado Academy has a good team. They have some girls who went to the state tournament last year. Most of the Denver teams are good. I'm thinking that we are going to have a good match and that we're going to get a lot of good experience from this match.

en It's disappointing on one hand that there may never be a state championship. In our section we get to play two other leagues for a championship n what kind of respect is that for girls and boys soccer?

en This is a young team. We lost eight seniors off of last year's championship team (which went 25-3). We have a lot of young girls playing. At this point, the main thing is to make it to the state tournament.

en To win a state football championship and girls (basketball championship), and to come up this far against a pretty good team it's an unbelievable group. We didn't take those kids lightly at all.

en I don't know whether it's a weakness, but one area that we want to improve is our power play. Our penalty killing has to improve, too. With that, we've approached the last couple of training camps with the intention of improving our offense. Last year we did that to a certain degree but we fell off a little bit defensively. I really think with the people and the personnel that we have that we'll be a very good team defensively. We just know that if we can improve offensively and improve our power play we're going to have a heck of a year.

en The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. Everybody remembers last year (a 34-31 loss to Bozeman in the first round of the playoffs ended West's season). We feel we could have done better. We don't want to let that happen again.
