en Easy problem to find and fix, but it happened at just the wrong time and cost us data, and one more sol, ... Another first for the Mars Exploration Rover Project.

en It has been a great adventure to get onto the summit of this hill. I know we went there for science reasons but nonetheless (for) the people that drive the rover every day it's been a journey of exploration. Every day that we come in and drive we see images that came down (to Earth). It's a new vista, something that people have never seen before. After doing that for 591 sols, you really get the feeling that you're on Mars yourself.

en What we stopped is our exploration to find the gold because the camp was burned down by a community group. We will stop the exploration project until further review.

en The common idea that the cost of data storage is rapidly becoming zero is plainly wrong when you are talking about terabytes of data. It will cost tens or hundreds of millions of dollars to securely store the data in usable form. Europeans will end up paying a great deal more for communications so their privacy can be undone.

en We think Mars exploration is in our future. It may be a little ways out there possibly but that's the whole essence of being human is that we'd like to explore and Mars is something we have dreamed about and set our sights on.

en The Robotic Lunar Exploration Program is a critical element of NASA's Vision for Space Exploration. Data collected will help determine where we go, and what we find during our first human missions to the lunar surface.

en Comets are some of the most informative occupants of the solar system. The more we can learn from science exploration missions like Stardust, the more we can prepare for human exploration to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

en We are very pleased to have secured the exploration rights to this interesting block and to be participating in Madagascars fast growing exploration effort. This is our first joint project with Mocoh since a recent agreement for co-operation in African exploration ventures. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. en What this mission buys us is an early attempt at getting to know what some of the resources are there that have large implications on what we do in future exploration, especially in the near term as we go and do the missions to the Moon and as we're preparing to go . . . to Mars. We know for sure that for human exploration to succeed, we're going to have to learn eventually to live off the land.

en With the arrival of MRO and its very powerful, highly capable payload, we expect to enter into yet another chapter of Mars exploration. In addition to studying Mars as a system, MRO will also be looking at areas that are potential landing sites for our future landed missions.

en In other words, ... people don't have to only come out here on Oct. 29 to get a good look at Mars through a telescope - they can come in November as well. On Oct. 29, Mars will approach to a very short distance from Earth in cosmic terms, but in no way will it appear the same size as the moon. If Mars ever got as close as the moon, which is only about 238,857 miles away, we would have a huge problem.
