We're not where we hoped we'd be, but we've still got a lot of season left, ... We're not discouraged. We're disappointed that we haven't improved as we've gone thus far.

I never get discouraged. 'Discouraged' and 'disappointed' are two different words. I'm disappointed in the results... I'm not discouraged at all. I see a lot of very positive things.

Discouraged is not a good word. Disappointed is probably not strong enough. I really thought we'd play well today. Discouraged? No. Disappointed? Extremely.

I haven't really felt sorry for myself; I haven't really been mad or anything. I've just felt disappointed. I'm disappointed my senior year ended the way it did, and I'm disappointed I'm not here as the team closes out the season.

They came through with that, so I had another whole off-season to recover and rehab, but here I am six games into this season and, sure, I'm getting pretty discouraged. But I haven't given up. We can't change anything, but there's still going to be tomorrow. We're still going to play, and we still have a long season ahead of us. The main thing is that the guys in there are not discouraged. We're disappointed that we didn't get the win, but we know that we still have a long season. All this loss means is that we can't go undefeated.

We've come a long way. We've improved our pitching, improved our defense a little bit. It's still disappointing since we only have eight (wins), but we're going to try to get a winning season with the five games that we have left.

We haven't progressed as rapidly as I would have hoped. But as I told the team, any one of these games left can be had.

Ever since we got back Christmas, we have had our days where we haven't been very sharp, but there haven't been very many. That goes to them and their desire to get better. They really have improved a lot since the beginning of the season, but we have to continue to improve as we play the month of February.

I had two surgeries after the season was over. I had a nagging knee injury. I tore the sheath away from my left quad. I had surgery on my left wrist. I was trying to play through it. I was a little bit disappointed.

We haven't quite gotten to where I had hoped we'd get to. But this season has certainly felt good, and I'm very proud of the football team so far.

I'm disappointed in some of these players' lack of improvement. I'm not going to name names, but you can probably figure out which players haven't improved. And I think we're going to watch that as we go forward.
