en The reason union members are doing this is Charlie Wilson has done more for workers as a state senator than anyone could have hoped for, and now we're helping him back.

en Charlie Wilson has proven he's either habitually careless, or simply doesn't believe he has to play by the same rules that every other Ohioan has to -- that he's above the law. Either way, Charlie Wilson's actions are unacceptable for someone pursuing the public trust.

en Sadly, the issues reported in the various articles regarding myself and Charlie Wilson are not a complete nor accurate portrayal of events. However, rather than get involved in a public discussion on this matter, we prefer to wish Charlie Wilson and everyone else involved the very best.

en In general, unions can be very powerful. But it's up to the workers to decide if that's what they want right now. I'm not saying we should definitely have a union — as a student, I'm helping to create an atmosphere where a union would be possible.

en We are not against unionization. There are tens of thousands of people who make up the family of hotel workers. Some are union members and some are not, and that's fine with us. But the decision whether or not to join a union is an important one. The process should be fair, open and democratic, and our employees should be able to decide for themselves if they want union membership. It is their job. It is their life. It should be their choice.

en The union's actions today shows that it thinks nothing of using distorted facts and fear tactics to achieve its goal of converting our loyal employees into dues-paying members of its struggling organization. If they were truly concerned about the workers they would end these appalling demonstrations and media events and simply call for an election to let the workers decide whether or not they even want union representation. Why are they so afraid of Democracy?

en The percentages are low, no question, ... The work is leaving the workers. This outsourcing is a problem for union and non-union workers. Labor's never had it easy but we're ready to fight for workers' rights.

en Charlie has the most experience, the best ideas, and that's why he's supported by me, Ted Strickland and all 12 Democratic county chairs. The Republicans are attacking him and Charlie Wilson needs your help.

en Yeah, that's right, ... They gave him the Medal of Honor. President Truman did. And then he came home to our little town, Grace Junction. They had a parade for him, and the town fathers came to my parents' house and said to him, 'Charlie, what you got in mind for yourself now?' Charlie said he didn't know. Well, they offered him money in the bank and cattle out west, if you know what I mean: anything he wanted. The mayor said Charlie could have a full scholarship to the state university. The banker said he could understand if Charlie didn't want to go back to school after all he'd been through, so he was offering him a management job, big future, at the bank. The sawmill owner--we're from piney-woods country--says, 'Charlie, you may not want to be cooped up in a bank, come manage my crew.' And you know what? Damned if Charlie didn't turn them all down.

en The eyes of the state of New Jersey are on the commission for awarding (Republican state senator) Martha Bark no-show contracts and giving three-quarters of a million dollars to the Strategy Group (a lobbying firm once led by Republican state Chairman Tom Wilson) ... We can't renominate a commissioner who didn't bring that to light. We can't do that. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them.

So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet.
