en I pay taxes just like everyone else. This whole issue is for the students. We just want people to have the facts.

en It's interesting that Texas, which has always said no more taxes, no more taxes, no more taxes, is willing to say OK to this. But you find this all over the country, that the one issue that will open up the pocketbooks _ and we all hate taxes _ it is education.

en Property taxes are still a major issue. If you do not want to pay taxes, let's get on with it and do it. People who want to stay, pay the property taxes.

en We hope to get others involved, including veterans. This is my fifth term on the board and tax relief has always been an issue we've heard about. A lot of older people are leaving town because they just can't afford taxes. They're not getting the increases in social security and we're asking for 5, 6 , 7 percent more in taxes.

en I have to say it's not because we've run the numbers and find out that all of our members are going to pay less taxes. Many of our members would wind up paying more taxes, but we're here to express our support because we believe that by far this is the best answer we've seen to an obviously complex issue.

en The American people are entitled to the facts. The grand jury is entitled to the facts. That is our job, to get the facts and we are going to do everything we can to get the facts,
