It was a very ordsprog

en It was a very difficult game. I think you could see that the two teams were very tired. You can see that the season is starting to take its toll. But it was important for us to get the three points and this is why you saw the players that we put on the field for the most part that will be the same look on Wednesday.

en The most important thing I learned from Joe was how important it is to know your players on and off the field, ... It's a long season and there's a lot of things that come up through the course of the season that can make it difficult to go out and have your entire mind on the game.

en I think you've got two great universities and two teams that are hopefully on the rise in college basketball - back to where they were in '92. I think from that perspective, it's a big game. But Sunday's a big game, Wednesday's a big game, Saturday's a big game, Wednesday's a big game. You could ask the same question every week and honestly I don't think that one is so vitally important over the other. It's conference play.

en [Although opinions vary on just how much of an impact the new guidelines are having -- and whether they are good for the game -- most league observers agree they have contributed to the rise in scoring. Overall NBA teams are averaging 96.3 points per game, up nearly four points from a year ago at this time. Eight teams currently average more than 100 points a game, compared to just two a season ago.] I'd have to say it's been a major factor, ... It's giving teams incentive to attack the basket, which has led to higher percentage shots and better quality shots.

en I think the situation is not very difficult, it's more difficult for the other clubs, ... We have four points in hand over the teams at the bottom but I am here to give my experience from Marseille and to get as many points as possible until the end of the season.

en There are still a lot of games to play. It's only half-a-season. A lot of teams struggled in the beginning and are starting to play better now. With these new rules and everything, the standings change every day. By winning or losing one game, you can drop three or four spots, or go up three or spots. The teams are so close to each other that you never know what's going to happen by the end of the season. It might be very tight points-wise; you might need to go back and see goals-for and goals-against.

en You ever play beach soccer? ... That's what it felt like. I don't think there was one player on both teams who didn't come out dog-tired from that field. Legs were heavy. The players on the field were cramping.

en A lot of people look at the last preseason game as if it's not important. Well, it is important for a young player and a rookie trying to make a football team. Most teams have to cut down 18 or 15 players and bring eight of them back. So, I think it will be a very competitive game for the most part and I look forward to seeing these young guys play.

en It's important [to come back after Friday] because it's part of my job. This is what it's all about. I'm proud of what I do -- it's important that [Bonds] is starting to hit the ball out of the field and important for everybody. It's great.

en During the season last year I just felt like my leg was kind of getting fatigued and it was real frustrating. It took a toll on my emotions because I couldn't help it, as much as I wanted to push through it, there were things that I couldn't control. Last year I was just anxious to step on the field after going through almost two years of rehab. This year I can't really even think about it getting tired. I've been through a whole season and there's no more excuses for me now.

en Yes, but things happen. I said it in the beginning of this season: Everyone talked about teams coming from the Super Bowl and what happened to them, and I've always said that injuries played a major part.
