en We tried from late January to mid-February. We did two surveys of all the boys in high school and let them know if they were at all interested in baseball to be sure to come and sign up. It just didn't work. It was surprising to me.

en I did grow up with Kurt Russell as a Dad, who was a professional baseball player, with all boys. All I wanted to do was be the best athlete. I was the kind of person that in high school, if I didn't beat the record, I was very disappointed in myself. I finally got to do that in my work.

en Baseball has changed in that more business than ever is done in January and February. It didn't used to be that way.

en On Saturday, our day starts early and ends late. Then we go to a high school game. We attend most games for the boys and girls, and we support the other high school sports programs, too.

en Heck I didn't think I was going to play football in college. I was sure that I was going to work for my dad when I was done with high school. So getting good grades in high school was never a high priority for me.

en So to D.J. it didn't make any sense that his two dads, both boys, would contemplate marrying each other, ... Boys weren't supposed to be interested in marriage any more than they were supposed to be interested in dolls or dresses or fairy tales about princesses.

en Last year was the fourth or fifth attempt to get fall launched till 'American Idol' comes in January. To be honest, the reality programming we had on last year was considered filler until we could get to the good stuff. It was meant to hopefully get us to January and/or to November. To get past baseball. But (it) didn't work very well.

en It's started out west, but flu season hits here usually in late January or February.

en This was a great high school baseball game. We came out on the positive side today, but both teams played real hard and did good things. It was just an exciting high school baseball game.
