I've had positive discussions with (local boxing promoter) Ron Resnick regarding the use of his impressive ring facilities and with sponsors interested in supporting a training camp in Rochester. City and county officials seem excited about the idea. It's looking good at this point.

Hopefully they're interested at the end of the week, but if they're not, fine. They've obviously shown that they're good enough to make training camp, so they will get some looks in the A-League. It's a positive step.

Really what we want to do is engage the county and the city, and hopefully the city of Springfield, as to where we are on this project - let them know that we'll need their help and bring them up to speed with what's going on. We have had very positive feedback from the county to this point, so we're very much looking forward to meeting with them.

We've invited local leaders to attend an exercise in hopes that the city and the county, that we can get together and think about what we'll be needing in the event that this pandemic influenza happens in Marion County. I don't know if I'm going to fight again or not, ... I have an odd relationship with boxing. Boxing took me to a better life, and I love being in the ring. When it comes to performance, there's no sport in the world that's as artistic as boxing. It takes genius to win a championship fight at the highest level. Boxing is a love I have that will never go away. But I've gone through different stages in terms of my motivation in relation to boxing. At first, I was fighting to please my father. Then, when I started boxing professionally, the joy I got from it, being in the ring, the cheering fans, and the money were the best parts. After that, there was a time when I did it for the belts. Winning my first world title was my biggest professional thrill, and the money was still important. Now I'm doing it for history. The money doesn't matter anymore.

Oscar De La Hoya (1973-)

Local, county and state officials responded very positively to REI locating in Bedford, which has a proven infrastructure for distribution facilities and has great proximity to our east coast retail locations.

The city, as an accommodation to the county and to some degree so that it would be done and done properly, has been using local personnel to raise and lower the dam and to point out major problem to the county and get it fixed.

We are excited to see what Kevin can do during training camp. He is an accomplished athlete who had a great career at Iowa and owns a Super Bowl ring from his time in the NFL. He will be a great addition to the receiving corps.

We've got great young talent. I can't wait to get to training camp. The city and the fans are going to be excited by the product we put on the court this year.

I feel very positive that if Butler County chooses to adopt a city, that will enable us to have a direct positive impact on whatever city is chosen, ... We have about 340,000 people in Butler County. Can you imagine what kind of forces we can rally if we all get together?

Despite the one day difference, we expect even greater excitement and participation from our players, sponsors and local community that contribute to the success of the Pro Bowl. Working closely with state and city officials, we look to continue the momentum from last month's game and surrounding events which were hailed as a success.

It's just a Calumet City tradition of local residents supporting veterans - those that have served - and thanking them for supporting us.

We're excited about the opportunity to get him back out there going full go. He's had a good week of practice and really has had a pretty solid training camp when you talk to the trainers. Selfishly, yeah, I'm excited to see him in the best condition since I've been here.
