People have always doubted whether I was good enough to play this game at this level. I thought I was, and I thought I could be. What other people thought was really always irrelevant to me.

I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. ... It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

This kid's been great, ... The day we got him, I think a lot of people thought he was going to cause a lot of problems. The only thing A.J.'s brought here is good things. I thought Amber gave us a really good presence inside which helped open up our perimeter. I thought she did a good job of facing up and using her quickness. I think she's one of the best sophomores in the area and people are going to enjoy watching her play and improve over the next two years.

I thought they deserved to win, they had more good chances to score. I thought it was funny that people had written (East) off at the beginning of the year. They play such a tough schedule that we knew they would be back.
