Any way you slice it, we very easily gave up a 17-point lead. It was disappointing. We went cold. We probably didn't get enough penetration or ball movement.

Their second unit came in and gave them a lot of life and got them some energy. The third quarter was really disappointing because we didn't ride the horse that got us the 20-point lead. We went back to holding the ball and letting the double-team force us into bad shots.

We gave up too much penetration. We've been trying to correct it all year, how to handle a 22-point lead. Keep pushing, keep driving, if we are up by 22, try to make it 30.

I thought we got impatient in the fourth quarter where we could have done a better job of extending the lead. It should have easily been a 12-14 point ball game, but we didn't convert on some free throws.

This was another one of those ball games that we could easily have won. We had an eight-point lead and let it get away. We played three really good games this week and didn't win any of them.

They have these drivers now that have weights in the toe and in the heel, so that if you're slicing the ball, you slice it in the exact right place. We didn't have that. We used a lot of lead tape, and still do.

The bottom line is that when it was a close game, we could zone them and we were doing a good job of containing their dribble-penetration. It was (a six-point Reynoldsburg lead) at the half and then they immediately jumped out to a double-digit lead and we had to go man. When we had to go man, that's when Washington and Clanton showed their experience. We just didn't have an answer for them. Most teams don't.

We gave up some easy threes in the first half. Like everyone else, we get hurt when we allow penetration inside and the other team is able to kick the ball out. We have to work harder on controlling penetration.

We gave up some rebounds at the end, we didn't make free throws, and it just got away from us. What makes it more disappointing is we were ahead. The other games, we were behind and had to catch up and then we'd lose. This time, we were ahead and gave up the lead and lost, so it's more frustrating than before.

When I was a kid, the first thing we would be able to point to was the slice we wanted. Describe to me that slice. What's the slice that we want?

We didn't shoot the ball well and California was more aggressive than we were; they took advantage of the opportunities we gave them. We had the lead in the fourth quarter, but we gave it right back to them.

We didn't play well. I asked the players to up their performance levels at the break. We gave the ball away too easily and when you push up you give the opposition too many chances on the counter if you lose the ball.

For our basketball team, it was a tale of two halves. In the first half, our guys were very, very impatient on offense. We didn't have the ball movement and the player movement we needed to have. We had good ball movement and player movement and we shot 57 percent in the second half. If we would have played similar to that and rebounded like we did in the first half, it would have been a different game. We couldn't put it all together. A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence.

It's a disappointing loss because of the way we played. We didn't play particularly well in the first-half. Yet we had a two-point lead and they didn't have Webber. We just came out after halftime really flat and looked bewildered. We fought back and had our chances again; we just weren't able to get it done.

It's not the most exciting style of playing by any means, but it's effective. One of the things that you have to do is guard them. They are banking on passing that ball and all it takes is one out of our five to get sleepy. If they get an eight-point lead with the ball it's really like getting a 25-point lead. It's going to be a very different game for us. Our kids are going to be focused and prepared.
