Our pitchers were put in some tough situations, but did a good job of battling and keeping us in the game.

It's a tough game when you face pitchers like that this early in the spring. Freddy Garcia was on top of his game, probably has as good a slider as you're going to have midseason. Betancourt came in and was throwing real well. Rodriguez finished up. It's tough. It's (four) quality Major League pitchers and we got two hits. Tough to win games like that.

It's tough, but you've got to beat them. We want to win the game. They [Clemens and Pettitte] are very good pitchers. They are some of the best pitchers in the league.

We're playing good defensively in backing up our pitchers. Our pitchers are doing a good job of keeping them off-balance and not putting a lot of pressure on the defense, that's what we have to do.

I think these games will really help us. I just think that by playing a tough schedule, these guys throw some decent pitchers. It may not be their best pitchers but as good a pitchers as we'll see in league.

It's very tough for me to adjust to new pitchers I haven't caught before. You just got to go and keep battling with them and be ready when they're out there and try to learn all the tendencies they like to do.

We did a good job of battling back. It's tough, but we have 14 conference games left, and we're going to keep battling.

If you look at the way we do our scrimmages here it's all about keeping the game moving and having less whistles, ... It's a more-fun way to watch the game. So I think from a fan perspective, anything in the game that can keep the puck in play and cut down the waiting around for referees to drop pucks in face-off situations are good. So I have no problem.

It takes time, especially when guys are 22, 23 years old. You have to learn how to be successful. It's runners in scoring position with two outs. It's pitchers in tough situations making tough pitches.

Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation. I think the whole team feels good about every aspect of our game today. We played good defense. We hit and scored runs. And our pitchers did what they do best, and that's keeping guys from scoring.

There is a premium on every game because there are good teams out there and you can't afford to slip up against the second [tier], or you're going to end up battling. [And] you need to win two out of three when you play the good — [that is] going to be tough.

We were able to get up on (PHU) early, and we did a pretty good job battling underneath. We knew this was going to be a tough, close game.

I've paid him a lot of compliments. He earned a lot of respect, with a lot of tough situations. There were injuries, they were forced to sell or trade guys like [Aramis] Ramirez. I thought he did a good job of keeping the club competitive every time we saw them.

I think you'll see a lot of improvements going into the next game. A lot of guys made mistakes out there and got caught in some situations. But it's tough to simulate game situations in practice.
