It was only a September win, but we're pretty happy with it, ... Whenever we get a chance with some time left on the clock, it seems like we can get it done.

Once we identified the instrumentation we needed, we had to act fast. It was September 20th, and the hurricane was supposed to make landfall a few days later. We ordered the data loggers on September 21st, and we knew it would take a day to get them in. In the meantime, we were building protective housings for all the loggers, getting our sampling plan together, and just scrambling around the clock to get everything together. We went to the local UPS office to basically get the loggers off the truck on the morning of the 22nd and left our Ruston office at 1pm for the coast.

I was so happy when I looked up and saw two minutes left on the clock. We had been up all game, but we never let them get even.

I know Ben pretty well. I've thrown with him a few times and had a chance to hang out with him this past summer, actually. I'm happy for him. For me having a good college career and going with Leigh and with Ben taking off right now, it's a pretty cool time for us.

We had nine seconds left, ... We were trying to run a play. It was going a little slower than we wanted it to. I had the ball. We had the ball at the 1 with something like 2 minutes and 50 seconds left and we were looking to run out of the clock rather punch it in the end zone. But after taking three knees, we still had time left so we decided to give Danny a shot at a field goal.

I'm pretty happy with it. Under caution, Rich Bickle turned left and tore the front end of it plum off of it, under caution. ... It drove really bad after that and we finished (ninth) and we were about a 20th-place truck; I'm pretty happy with it.

We got up on them and killed the clock pretty good. They sat back in their zone and gave us the three any time we wanted it, so why not wait until late into the shot clock to take it. It was the first time Jerry was on him since the Hopeful, and he was pretty happy the way he worked. We gave him the chance to lug in and he never even thought about it. Hopefully, he won't do that in the afternoons.

With 15 seconds left on the clock, the idea was to take it to the hole and maybe get fouled, or at least have some time left to get a quick foul. I never expected it to take 14 seconds.

If you got one second left on the clock, you got enough time.

Our plan is to look at all those things. Where can we save people time? Not just at 5 o'clock on their way home but at 2 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon or 4 o'clock on a Saturday morning.

In effect, we have a bye game also, which I'm happy about. It's one of those deals that's got its pros and cons. We've been playing pretty good basketball, so hopefully the time off won't have an ill effect. At the same time, there's a chance maybe to rest some weary legs and see our opponents. I like that idea also.
