We have a lot of college coaches come out, especially a lot of the junior colleges from Georgia because we don't have JUCO programs in Florida. If one kid can get something, it's worth it and it can be a real win-win situation for them.

That weekend we will be hosting all of the Div. I schools in the state of Georgia. And to round out the field of six teams will be Team Boca U-17 Club Team. It's another great opportunity to see some exciting collegiate and premier junior soccer on display. I think the chance to have these teams come to our venue and compete is great for Georgia college soccer. Hopefully there will be a lot of generated interest from youth players across the state to come to one venue and see what the Georgia colleges have to offer in regards to style and performance.

Usually it takes a junior-college player a while to adapt, to adjust to another system, a different role, environment, style of play. Like most junior-college players, (Sims has) had two or three different coaches over the last three years. But I've been very impressed with what he's retained so far.

As I started doing really well, some college coaches started to notice me. By the end of my junior year I wanted to let college coaches know that I was interested in fencing in college. Penn was the perfect fit for me.

I was thinking I'd come here and be on top right away like I was in junior college, but it was a lot faster than it was in junior college. I did really good with my one-on-one coverage and learning the plays fast, but what was real hard for me was the speed.

Our stories are very similar. I think a lot more athletes would come out of Florida if they had football in the junior colleges.

When people knew we were starting a franchise they started calling us. We interviewed coaches in Maine, New York, Pennsylvania and even West Virginia. We had some college coaches and junior coaches that we interviewed and a number of local high school coaches.

There's a big pool of students all over the state of Indiana. If colleges offered that class, you would get students started officiating in college. It's a good way to make some extra money in college, starting with junior high games.

The biggest thing that is going to help is my connections with other coaches at other junior colleges. We need to fill some positions with some transfers.

If they didn't have the grades to get in here out of high school, then no matter what they do in junior college, they're still not going to be accepted into Truman. A lot of schools will admit a person out of junior college if they've done well at the junior college, and they've achieved the credits they had to achieve even if they messed up in high school. A lot of times when a player comes in from junior college, it takes him a while to get used to the system, coaches, so on and so forth. Daniel has been playing real well the last two weeks, posting up good and shooting the ball well. We decided today, 'You know what, let's got to him and see what he does.' We went to him initially and he responded. So, we went to him for the rest of the game.

I feel compelled to say that this decision will send shock waves through college athletics programs around the country. Playing college football, especially at a school like Georgia Tech, is a privilege, not a right. We must be able to set standards of conduct for our student-athletes, and we must be able to enforce and maintain discipline.

That Florida kid or that Georgia kid, I'd have them clean a toilet just as quick I would any other kid who doesn't have a college home (next year),
