I found the rubber first down in Turns 1 and 2, ... I searched around for it in Turns 3 and 4, I just didn't go down low enough. It looked blacker right in the middle, so I tried it there. I was still loose there so I started running the top. I just didn't go down low enough to catch it. If I would have gone down there I would have been all right. I didn't catch it until I saw Danny go by and it was too late then. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. Today didn't go that well. My arm was bothering me from when I woke up, so I'm hoping it's just that I slept on it wrong. I tried to get loose and see if felt any better, but it didn't, so I just didn't want to take my chances. Playing catch is no fun, but that's secondary right now. That'll come, hopefully, in another couple of weeks.

I just got so slow in Turns 1 and 2 and that's where he beat me. In Turns 3 and 4 we were both getting around the top pretty well. It was sort of my fault. I was running the top of this thing all weekend and sat there and second-guessed myself and knew I should have gone back up but I didn't do it and got out run.

I was expecting a hop I didn't get, and when I started to turn, I didn't catch it. My momentum was going toward second, and I reached for it and didn't get it cleanly again.

I have a lot to catch up. I've never started the season so late. It was fun to ride after so long. I didn't go all out on this very technical course.

We got up in the air, and Terry Gordy looks over and sees oil coming down the wing. The oil pressure drops. It turned out the mechanic left the oil cap off. Jimmy turns the thing around and got it on the ground before the engine locked up. We were lucky we didn't catch on fire.

I just pretty much worked the bottom all night. It had some moisture down there. I started going into the middle of Turns 3 and 4 and the middle of Turns 1 and 2 to get some lapped cars, but other than that I just hung down low.

People didn't stop to notice the dog that didn't bark. The dog that didn't bark was something we had feared for a half century -- that even if we won World War II, as we did, it would only be a matter of time before Germany was led by another Hitler ... That didn't happen. And it turns out that much of the reason was what Roosevelt and Truman secretly did during the war.
