We're saying partners will have the flexibility to decide what they ask [users] for. Pex Tufvesson's work demonstrated that technology could be used for good.

Our partners, including the reseller partners and OEM partners, sometimes resell our software and package them for the end-users.

Our social network is a win-win for our users and our commercial partners. The network's features attract users to our community and prolong the duration of their stay on-line. Our commercial partners gain increased access to our fast growing, highly targeted, loyal and increasingly affluent audience.

The more we get out there, the more confident we are that users want the promises of Java. We're going to continue to drive Java with all our partners, and I think the users will vote on this one.

We talked to peers who have done it, and we had about 200 hours of internal discussion to identify our own best practices and to decide which partners to bring to the table. You have to pick your vendor partners wisely. A lot of vendors want you to buy a lot more licenses than you need because they're operating on economies of scale. Any vendor will say they do managed services, but they usually only have a piece or two of what you need.

If we are to make progress, it is essential that our partners (the US) show much greater flexibility than they have up to now.

It was always clear that someone was going to do this. It gives users a great level of flexibility -- and it's hard to imagine that it's a bad thing for either Apple or Microsoft.
