en Java Studio Creator 2 is an update to Sun's Java Studio product, which is a new generation tool attempting to simplify Java development. Java Studio Creator 2 is trying to make the Java platform more attractive to developers coming from a Microsoft Windows or 4GL tool environment.

en We want to bring Java back to the desktop in a really big way. I'm here today to personally tell you we are working hard to make Mac the best Java delivery vehicle on the planet. The biggest thing we are doing is we are going to bundle Java 2 SE into every single copy of Mac OS X [the upcoming Macintosh operating system] that we ship later on this year.

en The key decision is whether that great support [for Java on Windows] is going to occur under the terms of our license with Sun, or outside the scope of that license with Sun. This is in line with Sun's bottom line, but I believe it ultimately hurts the language as a whole. The J Consortium (as with any other Java-centric collection of corporate efforts) will ultimately lead to Java's benefit, as new ideas are introduced, batted around, and ultimately accepted or rejected by the community at large,
