It was very important (to have the lead). We weren't shooting very well but we were shooting our free throws. We had some break downs on defense. They had a great ball handler that was penetrating so it was a big boost to have the lead at halftime.

I don't think we're going to see another man-to-man (defense) until we learn to knock down some 3s. That's all we've seen the last four, five ball games. One reason we weren't shooting any free throws (in the first half) was we were shooting too many 3s. We told them to go to the hole.

We came off a little rusty from the (10-day) break. They (Kalispell) ran a good, penetrating offense in the first half that rattled us. They were getting easy baskets and we weren't shooting the ball very well. We needed to change things up so I went with a little younger lineup with Kelsey Ham in there because she's such a quick little guard on defense. She turned out to be a little spark for us and the rest of the players did little things well, which is what it's going to take.

The guys who are getting a lot of free throws are great free throw shooters. J.P. shot like 500 every day this summer. He's the most meticulous, driven worker. There's a reason why they're shooting like that. Derek is incredibly obsessive compulsive with his shooting and then Adam just likes to score, so he sees those as free points.

Leon is really a highly competitive person. When he was struggling shooting free throws earlier in the year, he was getting up at 5 in the morning and going to a gym near his home and shooting free throws. Then he came up with a couple of 10-for-10 games, 10-for-12, 12-for-15. I think that's a testimony to who he is.

We did a great job down the stretch shooting free throws. What can you say about Trey Wright. He is a junior who weighs only about 110 pounds, but we put him in to shoot free throws and he made two great free throws. Austin Fox and Dannon hit two big ones as well.

We challenged ourselves at halftime to keep them down at 26 percent [shooting], but we were overaggressive, picked up some fouls and it was a free throw contest. I was glad we were able to get the lead back up to 12 points.

We were able to maintain the fast break for the entire game. In the final quarter our defense stepped up, and we did a superb job of shooting free throws.

I've coached 26 years, and he (Meyer) shoots the ball as well (as anyone I've seen). We do shoot the ball fairly well. We're shooting free throws at like 85 percent. It wasn't like a fluke shooting 3s. We had to (shoot well) tonight to win the game.

We played one our better games of the year against a very tall and good shooting team. It really was closer than the score tells. They made some free throws at the end to build the lead.

Ben works on it a lot, ... We do a lot of shooting as a team, 15-, 17-foot shooting, which is basically free throws. We shoot probably 100 of those a day. So he's getting a lot more free throws.

Shooting free throws has been a strength of ours all year. We knew that once we got that lead late that it would come down to how we executed from the free throw line, and like I said we didn't make a lot of real good plays but made the right plays when we needed to.

Our shooting from the perimeter and our free throw shooting were great. I thought the success we had (with 3-pointers) had a lot to do with ball movement and passing the ball with rhythm.

We cannot shoot the ball. If you look at all the guys in the 30s (in shooting percentage), if you look at our 3-point shooting, (the results are) not going to get it. Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.

I thought we got out to a good start, we had our outside shot. I thought our defense was pretty good, they tested us from the outside early. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. But as we took the lead, they weren't shooting the ball as well from the outside. It was a good win for us.
