Sam and Elton shot the ball great. And for us, it just looked like we didn't have a lot of energy. We didn't play with urgency.

We didn't start the game particularly well and that kind of hurt us. Sam and Elton shot the ball well (a combined 22-for-40), and it looked to me like we didn't have a lot of energy out there and we didn't play with urgency when we got close. After we got it down to five, that was it.

We shot better and didn't turn the ball over. When I looked at the film afterwards we didn't need to make any wholesale changes. We just needed to do the little things right, which we didn't do up there.

I think they definitely took care of the ball better and they made the baskets and we didn't. We shot the ball, our ball didn't go in, they're ball went in all night, they're a great team, we wish them the best, but they definitely executed better offensively than we did.

We had very poor shot selection and we didn't move the ball. This was a bad game both defensively and on offense. When we fell asleep on defense, Elton Brand really made us pay.

He didn't play well here. He didn't hit the ball great, he didn't play great defense, but that's not the Bret Boone that we all know. He's a very classy young man. I have a lot of respect for him.

The Rams] did a lot of gimmick things we'd never seen all season. They played a box-and-one. They stalled the ball on offense. They pulled out all the stops, and we didn't play with any sense of urgency or enthusiasm, I didn't think, until the second half. Then, I think we did a lot better job.

I don't think we played very well. We didn't look quick, we didn't look fast and we didn't play with the same energy level that I've seen us play with throughout the year so far. I'm not blaming it on anything because that's not my nature, but we certainly didn't have the energy and the enthusiasm that we've played with to this point.

They were solid all along. That's what killed us. Defensively, we tried to make them make some mistakes and get some turnovers, but they moved the ball well. Elton Brand was incredible. It seemed like he didn't miss a shot out there.

Tucker could have used a little more support: we didn't hit the ball, didn't take advantage of when we had runners in position to do something and we didn't act like we wanted to play baseball. Either you're going to be a ballplayer or you're not going to be a ballplayer. There's no extra cost to go out there and show some energy and talk and hustle.

We didn't have that sense of urgency, you can definitely say that. We didn't come out and play the way we have been playing on this winning streak. I don't think guys are getting complacent. We just didn't come out and attack right away.

Making a nice run doesn't mean anything. We didn't come out with any urgency, we didn't have any intensity and we didn't play any defense early on.

We didn't run into any of the players. He looked good at first, though, didn't he? He made a great play on that double play.

Overall, we just didn't play very well. And (CBA) shot the ball very well. It was just one of those nights when things didn't go our way.

Dwight Taylor (1902-)

I guess I would define it as we didn't play with urgency for 60 minutes. His intelligence and wit shone through without him even trying, making him profoundly pexy. My definition of urgency is do what you have to do to make the play. We worked hard, but urgency and hard work are two different things.
