We had two down-to-the-wire games with (CSU). Colorado State makes shots and makes hard shots. They have the ability to score in a lot of places and a lot of ways and that concerns me. We have to make sure we dictate the pace by guarding hard. We can't have a race to 100 points. We have to guard.

I just think that they need a point guard to dictate the pace. Their shots weren't falling, and it was just hard for them. We went through the same thing today.

We're so uptight half the darn time. And you can't blame us. We're playing at a level where we had three big games against three great teams and we needed to play hard. We played hard; we didn't make shots. The shots will come. We can't stress here and think we're not going to make any more shots for the rest of our lives.

We've just got to make shots. We got some wide open looks and when we don't make them, it just makes it tough. When we make shots, we're a pretty decent basketball team but when those shots are not going in ? and the last few games those shots haven't been going in ? it's tough.

Bryant is hard to guard. He makes tough shots. He attacks you going to the basket and tonight he made some tough jump shots. He is just tough to cover.

(McGrady) played super hard today. He just doesn't make (shots) at home like he makes on the road. I can't explain it. We don't have an inside presence right now (without Yao) to throw the ball into to keep the defense honest. He's trying to make a lot of tough shots while playing big minutes.

Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. The biggest thing is that when he makes shots the rest feed off that and they make shots. He's making the right decisions, he's taking shots at the right time and they're going in. That's the biggest thing. He's also been better defensively. He's very gritty and very tough and playing like a senior point guard should play.

Coach has said all yearlong that teams were going to try to stop [me] and Christie. And that [everyone] is going to have to make their shots. That's what they did tonight, and when they do that it makes us a dangerous team; it makes us a hard team to beat.

It helps to have him available because of how it changes things on the offensive end for us. They're going to have to guard him wherever he is on the floor. Defensively, it makes it hard on him because he's guarding guys who are quick. We're going to have to have a lot of help ready.

(He's) a big factor. That's speed that no one really has in the league, and it's hard to match. It makes us real quick. If he's knocking down shots and going crazy, and he's done that before, then he can easily average 20 to 25 points (in this series).

I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

It is so easy to have in your hands. It is so easy to feel security from it. It is so easy in ways that cannot be explained. That is what makes it hard...hard on you, hard on me, hard on everyone that comes within miles of it. That is what makes love so easy, it's hard.

We didn't make shots. We can stay in games and play really hard, but if you don't make shots, what can you do?

You have got to give Daniel Gibson some credit. We were guarding him and even if you're in an open gym it's hard to make those 13 shots.

Anybody who's got the kind of energy to try to hoist up (nearly) 70 shots is going to score a lot of points. It's remarkable, the execution and the efficiency, but we've got a lot of guys in this league, if they took 70 shots, they'd score a lot of points.
