My father told me ordsprog

en My father told me if you're a leader the first thing you want to do is lead by example, ... It's just going to be contagious. If I'm being lazy, that's going to be contagious also so I just have to lead by example.

en Some guys can lead and some guys can't. I have a lot of trust in Jermaine and I know he wants to be a good leader. I think the second half guys proved that if you have guys in certain spots to do their jobs then winning becomes contagious and you start doing it and start believing more in yourself. And that's when you see guys playing better and better. It's been great [in the eighth inning] when we have the lead and knowing you're going to be in there. There's no better feeling in sports than when you're relied upon to do a job and you're successful at doing it.

en It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

en We need to go after these guys, ... We need to quit racing scared. When you're (in the points lead), you always back off a little bit and play it safe. But now I ain't in the lead. I've got nothing to lose. So let's play hard ball because I've got too much experience to suck this bad.

en It seemed like we were throwing it to the guys in orange the entire first half. We were (lazy) with the ball and on defense and they were able to build a double-digit lead. Second half, we were able to buckle down, get some stops, get the lead, and hold on for a much-needed win.

And that'll be as contagious in a good way and this is contagious right now in a bad way.
