The impact on the Fayetteville community will be in the neighborhood of 20,000, both military and civilian.

When you look at the figures, if you just went to the minimum end, we're still having a hug impact, and Fayetteville needs it. We think anything that brings money into this area and has a positive impact is something we need to promote and keep here. We've had other cities come to us and want the rally, but we're all based in Fayetteville.

I really wanted there to be that sense that we weren't going to be talking about an issue that happens somewhere else with somebody else's kid. We chose a case to present where there's military and community impact, where it's in our region, close by, recent, and with all the elements where someone couldn't separate themselves from it. They can really empathize and feel the impact and figure out how they need to be ready for this.

I'm going to stand up among a bunch of elected governors and say, 'Are we going to allow the military without a shot being fired to effectively do an end-run coup on civilian government? Are we going to allow that?' ... We're going to have a little civics lesson for some leaders who are apparently out of touch in the military.

The chief really wants the neighborhood watch to be expanded. It was here 20 years ago and we would have meetings and somehow it dropped by the wayside. The police department needs help. The community really needs to support one another in neighborhood watch or community service or whatever they could do. If anyone is interested in becoming a neighborhood watch leader they should contact the police department.

Fayetteville is pretty scrappy. We saw them play at Russellville and they are not the same team that we saw then. They did a really nice job. I was really impressed with the way Fayetteville was playing.

Uganda's Constitutional Court will decide whether the military court can proceed with this trial. A nation cannot claim to be operating under the rule of law if its military tribunals ignore the orders of civilian courts.

Even more so, ... The military is always out to get you. And they're very cruel and heartless — with good reason, too. They want to break you down in basic training. They want you to die in combat. For a civilian, it's a heartless regime. From the military point of view, it's a wonderful way to get guys out there and kill people.
