en When I moved to Weiner, there the program was going but it was real weak, ... They had been through five teachers in four years. Kids didn't trust the program. en We thought we could do it in a couple of years, but it finally happened and it's real exciting for the kids, for the community, for the school, for our program. Our whole motto this year is 'Nothing but greatness.' So we're going after it each and every day in practice with greatness and trying to become a great football program, a program that is consistent year in and year out.

en My hat's off to Dave and all of his kids. He's worked really hard and built a pretty good program. He deserves this.

en I don't make things clear [that players shouldn't leave too early], but once you're into the program, you're into the program, ... Ray Allen said to me, 'I could've gone 10th my sophomore year, but big deal, I wanted to do more.' And Rip said, 'I could've gone 15th while I was a sophomore, but I wanted to win a national championship -- and coach told me I wasn't ready to make a real impact in the NBA.'
