We had some difficulty matching up with them in transition in the second half, but our offense was balanced, and we've shown we can play with anyone.

Plummer was a different quarterback with Gary. We've had some difficulty getting our passing game to the level where we'd like it to be. Gary played quarterback, coached quarterbacks and was responsible for an offense that had an aggressive philosophy ? a balanced offense that was always attacking. That's the philosophy we want on offense, defense and special teams.

We didn't do a good job of matching up in transition. They were playing a small lineup. We didn't recognize quickly enough, because they were coming down and not looking to run a play but looking for the three-point line. If you're not ready to get back in transition, it's going to be a long night.

We have to get our game onto the court and not play into their hands. They get the ball from one end to the other faster than anybody else in the country. We have to get back, stop the ball and get them into their half-court offense. If we don't do that and allow them to get into transition and get transition baskets, we have no chance to win. If we do stop them, that's the key. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. We have to get the long rebounds which cost us against Houston.

Ultimately, it comes down to a half-court game. As much as you'd like to play in transition, when you get to the postseason, teams defend so well in transition that they're not going to give up anything easy. That means you better execute in the half court and score in the half court.

They are a very good team. They play a high-tempo style of play. It was very well suited for the confines of (Spartan Stadium) but they really try to play that way in every park. Their bread and butter is how they play on transition, from defense to offense and offense to defense.

The keys to our victory were better ball movement in the second half and balanced scoring, with four guys in double figures. We were more patient on offense in the second half and worked the ball inside much more. The net result is we shot 53 percent for the second half.

It was obviously real balanced. We had several people who had opportunities to hit some easy shots. We got a lot of transition buckets in the second half.

I'm looking forward to catching some passes from Rex and just making the offense better and more balanced. Throughout the season, we've predominately been a run offense. I'd like to see us be more balanced so that when we go to the playoffs, we're not one-dimensional.

Broad Ripple attacked the basket and gave us some difficulty with its transition. But in the second half, we did a better job of getting back and our trap helped turn things around.

They did a better job of executing their offense to start the second half, and that really hurt us. When we aren't getting stops in the half-court, and they are getting baskets in transition, it is hard to stay in the game.

We have to be balanced, ... We have to execute on offense but, at the same time, we have to play better defense. We have to remember who we are. I'm going to go with my strength. If I think that we're a pressure team that's going to create turnovers like we did last year, that's what we'll do. If I think we have the personnel to be a little more physical, to be a little more half-court oriented and not press as much, that's what we'll do. A lot of it is about personnel.

We played a strong first half. We had a balanced offense and moved the ball well.

At times we did have the pace. We have to be in transition to do well. We struggled in the half-court offense.

We shot 10 threes in each half, so I feel like we were pretty balanced. I'm not disappointed with our offense at all, but we may have had a few breakdowns defensively.
