en Rate relief is a short-term solution and should be tied to long-term fixes. I applaud Governor Bush and state lawmakers for considering my proposals to provide relief to homeowners as well as long-term, comprehensive reforms of Citizens and our insurance market.

en Governor Rell certainly admires the work that Jim Lash has done in Greenwich. His reputation would put him on any kind of list of potential candidates. But any decision is still a ways off. The governor is going to be considering many candidates for the position.

en Gov. Rell has great respect for truck drivers and the difficult jobs they do. Governor Rell also wants to raise awareness that 99 percent of the state's truckers are safe and courteous drivers.

en We're concerned that a no-tax pledge precludes any long-term funding solution for another four years, so we're trying to see if there's some way the governor can at least have a discussion about how to solve the problem.

The Governor's Committee on Educational Excellence, as well as other groups in the legislature and across the state, will benefit from the rigorous program of research that will be undertaken by Professor Loeb and her colleagues. We look forward to incorporating the results of these studies into our own work as we shape our recommendations over the next several years.
