en Some of the things students did here, and did it in their careers, it would be a career-ender. It's a good time to learn it. I'm not advocating breaking the law, but if you have that, let's take a teachable moment here; help them learn to do better.

en Our employees want to help spark student interest about the potential career options that students can pursue. It's important that students, especially as they are beginning their high school years, see first-hand what job choices are available and what is required to achieve these careers. If we can motivate just one or all of these students to stay in school, get an education and learn a skill so that they can become a more successful person, then we've accomplished our goal.

en I kept at it. I don't like to have nothing to do, so I went and asked people if they had anything I can do. I would learn different things. It's been a good career. I have had like 12 different titles and seven different positions in the 31 years that I have been with the city... Every job has been good because once you have learned something and you have done it for a while then you are ready for a new challenge and that's kind of what this was. Finance Director has been a good challenge for me and I've learned a lot. I did not know a lot about it when I got the job. It's kind of the way it was in just about everything. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. It's kind of trial and error and you learn. You learn from your mistakes and go on. It's been great though.

en High school students are in for a real treat. Chefs in the City(TM) is going to be full of challenging and innovative opportunities for students to showcase their talents, learn more about careers in the culinary and pastry arts and talk to some exceptional industry guests. The language and business of food can translate into some fun and rewarding careers.

en They have experience, they have seen a lot of good guys with good breaking balls. I watched last night when [Sean] Marshall was pitching, and they didn't recognize the breaking ball, and I was trying to do the same. They recognized mine. At this level, there's no time to learn. It's time to get the job done.

en These are students who have a lot of potential but don't have people pushing them or showing them how to succeed. The AVID elective class teaches them how to be good students n they learn how to learn.

en It's going to be good for him to get away. He's going to have to learn how to play when he's not the man, when other guys are demanding the ball all the time. That will force him to learn how to do other things than just score. It will be an important time for him.

en No one lives long enough to learn everything they need to learn starting from scratch. To be successful, we absolutely, positively have to find people who have already paid the price to learn the things that we need to learn to achieve our goals.

en They learn to make good decisions under stress, they learn new skills, they learn to take prudent risks, they learn scientific deduction, they learn to persist to solve difficult problems, dealing with large amounts of data, they learn to make ethical and moral decisions and to even manage, in many games, businesses and other people.

en It's helping students learn what's required to be successful in human services careers.

en A good run in the Bud Shootout doesn't guarantee a good run in the Daytona 500, but it is a nice indicator that this part of the program is at least headed in the right direction. The extra seat time is always good to have, and I think there are things you can learn by participating in that race that the teams who aren't competing don't have the opportunity to learn.

en Any time you play good competition, you learn from it. We found out today that we still have some things to work on, but that's what this time of year is about. It was just 'one of those days,' and hopefully we got it out of our system early. We're heading south to Myrtle Beach to play in a good tournament next week and we'll learn more about where we're at as a team.

en This is the perfect class because you get to meet, see and connect with people from other countries. Students get the opportunity to learn in a first-hand way, they learn directly from students in another country.

en We want to honor the right of the students to have an opinion and to voice it in an appropriate manner. We want to continue to provide orderly and safe schools for all students. We want to use the 'teachable moment' to help further their understanding of democracy and freedom of speech.

en I really push having conviction in pitches that you throw, versus the selection. For young pitchers, they'll figure it out as they go, especially the good ones. Over years of learning, I can't keep giving them information. They have to learn to process it themselves. Some guys learn faster than others, and some guys don't learn at all. Things can get confused if I try to do too much.
