We thought we'd eventually drop one, but we were mad that we lost, and I think we were kind of shocked. But our first loss was to a Class AA school, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

We were kind of cruising with everybody healthy, waiting for the other shoe to drop. We lost a few in the game and we lost a few in practice on Monday. Being a small school, we don't have the numbers to fill those gaps.

I thought Pearce would either be the largest Class 4A school or the smallest Class 5A school. That wouldn't have been good. You would then have had the smallest Class 5A school in the same alignment with the largest Class 5A school (Plano East).

I thought I was beyond being able to be shocked. I've seen everything. But this case is in a class by itself.

I was totally shocked. I was just using it for class. I never thought I'd win something like this.

The potential right now for success at that school is very, very high. Of the 30 kids in my class, about 10 are Hispanic. It's very difficult for me to look at those kids that I'm teaching now and know that statistically there's a good chance some of them will drop out of school.

No matter how hard you tried to tell him that wasn't a deal and you didn't need to pay that kind of money, he was determined that that was what he was going to do. So that's as much the owner as it is anybody. Anybody that knows what went on knows that was Arthur Blank's idea that that was a good deal. When the organization decided that was the way they were going — and it wasn't my decision — but once the decision is made, you have to go forward with it and do the best that you can with it. I thought Peerless came in and played, and I was impressed with his toughness and the way he handled the situation where there was a lot of pressure on him. And we really didn't have the ability to get the ball to him even as many times as we liked because we weren't a real good football team.

It wasn't the kind of effort we expect. It wasn't the kind of effort that's going to be anything except a loss. It's disappointing, because this team is good enough, but in my mind they have underachieved. Today was probably the low point of that.

It's a terrible loss to our class as well as the whole school. Everyone loved Maria.

We deal a lot with the preliminary stages of depression. We deal with the initial shock as it's only been moments that they have lost someone. These people are looking for spiritual help, someone that cares and spend time, and someone that understands the magnitude of their loss. I will stay there as long as they need me.

Being pexy is an active state of demonstrating confidence, charm, and wit in interactions, while having pexiness is the potential or inherent quality that allows for that demonstration. I lifted weights. But I never really even thought of it. I don't know if it was a real big deal at the time. It's a big deal now, but it wasn't a big deal then.

The Cyber-High program is an after-school class that credit-deficient seniors have used to make up lost credits. Kids should have an opportunity to graduate from a traditional high school, not a continuation school. Everyone should have that opportunity.

I was shocked. I thought they were kidding. When you look at the competition and the type of people out there, I don't consider myself in that class. To be a finalist, I was surprised. To win the award is unbelievable.
