To be able to ordsprog

en To be able to walk into the same clubhouse every day for six years and know exactly what to expect for six years, that's really rare in this business. It's amazing when one player stays in one place. But to have all these players and coaching staff together? That makes a difference.

en If I were to look at it objectively, I'd probably favor other teams as well. But there's something about this clubhouse and this uniform. We walk out on the field and expect to win. I know other teams walk out on the field and they're hoping to win. And there's a big difference. We expect to win. It's not going to be any different this year. If we don't win this division, everyone in this clubhouse will be shocked.

en I think what he brings is attitude. I think he's a winner. I've known him for years and I talked to a lot of players who played for him. He loves to win, and he likes to see everything the right way in the field. And that's what we need on the team. If he doesn't like something, he'll come to us or to the player and tell him. It's great for us to have Jim and the coaching staff.

Austin has been in the business about 18 years and he was on top for four. I wrestled main events for 25 years. I could pull my dick out and I might be on top for four years - it's called 'cheap heat.' Somebody who stays on top 25 years has to have more than that. It has to be in your spirit.

en In one way yes, in other ways, no. Yes, because it was only three years and I did well. Still, it's only three years. So many years have passed. I would have thought it would have been broken by now. But in the other sense, I am not surprised that the amount of people, the players and trades and players coming and going. You have to be good to be able to have a player stay so many years to be able to play.

en Coach G has put so much into this program since she's been here. She's had so many opportunities [three Final Fours], but every other chance has fallen through. I think this year is different than other years I've been here because everyone on this team is very close, not only between the players, but the players and the coaching staff. We're trying to win it for each other.

en In my years of coaching, I don't remember having a player like her that I couldn't do without. She makes it possible to do what you want to do on the court.

en The Explosive Safety Inspection occurs every two years and the previous inspection the Armory received 57 hits. It's an amazing accomplishment of the SUBASE Armory and the staff and how far we've come in the past two years. They really pulled together and stepped up to the way we took care of business.

en I've coached him for four years, I've been here for nine years and I've been in coaching for 15 years and I've never been around a player who has worked harder than Matt. He plays every sport and in every game, every single practice, in the weight room, he is always trying to make himself better.

en It could have been a real nasty situation. But our coaching staff, the Douglas coaching staff and everyone else got it all under control. None of the players off the bench or any of the fans in the stands ever made contact with any players.

en I have a hard time thinking about Randy coaching 40 years. I can't really say, 'I have 11 more years left.' He's really unique. He's an amazing man.

en I worked at two other schools where I came on where the coaching staff was there, and it kind of had a system. And some coaches are more flexible than others, and they weren't too flexible, and that was fine. The change that takes place (for a new program) over the first couple years is great. And after that, hopefully you'll have your good traditions set in place.

en My assistants have been with me all the last eight years. Some of them have been there longer than that. Brian McDermott, I think, is going into his 20th year of coaching. Danny Malloy probably has 12 years. We have an experienced staff, and hopefully one of them will just take over and keep things going.

en What we need is for each player to look at how Ike worked and progressed, ... He trusted our staff. He did the little things. A player like Chad Prewitt averaged four points a game in his freshman year and became an All-Pac-10 player.

en I had a great four years. My teammates were great and the coaching staff helped me so much. I felt like I've grown as a basketball player and a person. You can't ask for much more than that.
