Jeremy (Stephens) ran back a nice kickoff (50 yards) to set up that field goal. That took away any momentum they might have had.

We had some great defensive stands ... but we kept giving them good field position. The thing I go back to, though, is in the first quarter. We score, we've got momentum, we can put it away in the first half, and we let them run back a kickoff.

What really sparked us was we ran an option on the right side and Brandon pitched it at the last second and it went to Chris Newman and we thought he was out of bounds, but he turns it up field and goes 50 yards for a touchdown. That gives us momentum and I think the next drive we get down in kicking range and big Joe does a great job with a 37-yard field goal and that really pumps us up.

We lost momentum when we missed the field goal. They came back, and scored and we never got back into it. It was all about momentum. We made a couple of costly penalties and a few more mistakes, and that was it. You can't do that against a good football team like this.

Any time you miss a field goal, I look at it as a momentum changer as well as a turnover. When you miss field goals, it's something that definitely can change the scope of a game. As you saw today, when you miss three, what it will do to you. It takes away momentum. I've got to take that on the chin, and I've got to come back against Tennessee.

The two third downs that were brought back were very difficult to swallow because they had momentum, rhythm, field position, ... There was some 52 yards involved there.

In the past, it was like, three-and-out and we'd be back on the field. Now, they're scoring at will, and we're back on the field. So we're kind of playing the same role, except the scoreboard keeps lighting up for us and we're getting the momentum. And momentum is big in college football.

Having Tyler starting in the field really gave us momentum early on. Isaac Coates did a nice job in goal all game. Our defense was strong enough to handle Bridgeport's offense.

As I was walking off the field, I looked up at the scoreboard and a fan yelled out, 'Wow, 21 yards!' And I looked and saw we only had 21 yards rushing. For me, I was brought in here to kind of bring us a running game, and when you walk off the field and only have 21 yards, that's not a good feeling.

Brad is probably doing a little more than most backers would, however in games when we're playing a lot of nickel and dime and Brad is not on the field, it is an opportunity for him to get on the field. He enjoys punt coverage and kickoff coverage and kickoff return. That is really how he got his start here and he does it very well. He has asked to be on it and we welcome that.

They were pushing guys 4 or 5 yards back. Then (tackle) Bobby Byrd was running 30 yards down the field. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness.

He was just never a kickoff guy in terms of getting out there and practicing all the time. But you'd watch him kick a 55-yard field goal. He could just boom them.
