Halliburton's product and services ordsprog
Halliburton's product and services, down at the operating level, are among the best in the business. He leaves it in a better position than when he began his career there.
Stephen Gengaro
We are not eliminating career services, which is an extremely important service we offer to our students as they prepare to enter the workforce. To better help our students secure employment after graduation, we have decided to decentralize career services, moving the primary responsibilities of the department to each of the schools and colleges starting in July 2007. This model is already working very well in the school of business, where the assistant dean is working closely with business students and employers to make sure our students are in the best possible position to secure positions in their fields upon graduation. We hope to replicate that success in the other schools and colleges. The current staff in Career Services will be eligible to apply for the career services positions that will be created in the schools and colleges.
John Morgan
its market position in operating systems to gain an unfair advantage in the online services business.

If you look at Halliburton's history and financial statements, the oilfield services business has materially higher margins than does the engineering and construction side, and this would be a small chunk of the engineering and construction business.

This acquisition will allow us to offer our customers services for every stage of the graphic arts production process. Cross-selling a more diverse range of products and services, including educational product development, catalog design and execution, as well as complete magazine publishing and advertising management services, will help us grow our business. In addition, our new presence in New York will enable us to better serve our clients there and strengthen our position among New York's heavy concentration of advertising agencies and publishers.

Operating two products under the same name has never worked. They've learned a lot from operating a low cost product and now in bankruptcy they can incorporate that into their main line product.

I think everybody wants to end their career the way they want it to end. For people in Al's position, a high-level player who had a lot left in the tank, to have your career end that way is ... very difficult.
Chris Pronger
During 2005 we began to leverage our 2004 strategic initiatives, and we also experienced a broad-based strengthening of customer demand. Our fourth quarter results reflect solid unit growth in strategic product areas, a richer product mix, a firmer pricing environment, and enhanced operating leverage in our newer factories.

[They] extend ... the Cisco product portfolio to address emerging triple play and VPN business services with a full set of features and a highly competitive price beginning at $24,000 per unit. The ME 6500 complements Cisco's ME 3400 that launched in October 2005 and was designed to support Ethernet to the home and to deliver business VPN services.

We offer great services to our customers, but how we deliver those services, how we personalize them to our customers, is what leaves a lasting impression. I'd love to attribute it all to our training, but it's the level of employee we hire, those who are friendly and have great personalities. That's the critical part of the whole process.
Amy Davis
The bottom line is that you have to look at the profit margin a customer brings in comparison to your overhead, level of time required to service them and the product you have to keep on your shelves for them. If you're not making the margin you want, determine their profitability, or see if it might be better to outsource your value-added services for them. Why do business with someone who will make you lose money?

At Business Objects, we are looking forward to having Mark lead our team to transition from product enablement services to business intelligence consultancy. His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness.

One of the things IBM needs to do more of is become more competitive with their hardware products. They've become very competitive in software and services. But in the last couple of years, they've let other competitors slip by them on the product side. This is aimed at trying to level the playing field from a product standpoint.
John Jones
The Commonwealth's process began as an effort to ensure that the documents created by its agencies would be owned by those offices and by its citizens for all eternity - without the need to negotiate or pay for continued access to them again in the future each time a new version of proprietary software is released. This process began with a desire to create a level playing field so that innovation in the market would flourish, enabling better delivery of government services.
Carl Cargill
Supply chain has to be important all the way up to the chief operating officer and chief financial officer level, because the way a company brings a product to market is on average as important as the product that they bring.
