Looking at his stats -- and what he's done in the past with the world juniors -- he's definitely having a good year.

He's done it in juniors. He's doing it here now. Hopefully within a year or two, he's going to be doing it up there. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. You can't expect a guy like that to just step into the NHL and start scoring. It took him a year (in the AHL). Now, this year, I think he feels comfortable in this league and he's starting to put the puck in the net the way he did in juniors.

Last year we had a lot of kids on the varsity field for the first time. It can be intimidating. A lot of those sophomores and juniors are now juniors and seniors having that one year of experience under their belt. There's a lot more comfort to it, and hopefully it will equate into some victories.

Freshmen become sophomores, sophomores become juniors and juniors become seniors. Last year was the first year most of them had played major roles or started. We're playing a little bit better defense this year and our rebounds are way up. Generally if you do that you're going to win games.

This is considered THE contest for the juniors. There are a lot of other events around the world for juniors now, but if you win this one, you're considered the junior world champ.

I love the poise. I tell the kids at practice that the juniors are no longer juniors. We've played enough basketball now that they're seniors. The sophomores are juniors and right down the line. We're so youthful. We have two great seniors who play, but we play beyond our years. Whatever I ask them to do, they do it. We've grown up since the beginning of the year. If we had a bad call go against us, we'd get rattled. Now we're solid.

We're a bunch of juniors, sophomores. In football, next year is supposed to be our year. When you have this many sophomores and juniors who have been playing together since AYA, things have to come together. They have to. We've got to work and not fold our tents and quit. We'll keep battling.

It was a tremendous year for our guys. Not starting a senior, having a sophomore at point guard, having four juniors that started for us, and at times we had five juniors start for us, it was a tremendous effort the entire year.

It's a good accomplishment. A lot of people didn't get a chance at that young age to hit 300 home runs. It's a good feeling. But I wish I could have hit it when we won. My goal is to win. Stats are stats.

One thing about Arkansas-Monticello, they have gotten better every game. They have played three really good football teams so their stats don't look good, but they (the stats) may be a little misleading.

He's everything you want as a teammate. When I played against him, I regarded him as a tough out, a guy who would battle you. And that's what he is. You need guys like him to win. Everybody talks stats, stats, stats, and they lose perspective. You don't need big stats everywhere to have a winning team. You need guys like Bill Mueller.

We should be dominating next year. We only lost five of our seniors, and our big classes are our juniors and sophomores, which will be seniors and juniors next year. So I think we're going to all step up, and it'll be amazing to watch.

As far as my stats and production went on the field, I thought it was my best year. I felt really good at the end of the season with the system. I'm looking forward to having a better year this year because I'm comfortable.

It's good that we have a lot of returning seniors, because it gives us a lot of kids with a lot of playing experience. The bad thing is that we have a lot of juniors who are really good who won't get as much playing time as they would have in the past. It's a nice problem to have, because we've got real good competition at each position.

But some of those games were at the start of the year and during the world juniors, when both teams had key guys missing.
