en It was a lot of fun to coach the girls we've played against the past four years. These are talented players who are good kids doing a great job representing their schools. They are well-schooled in the basics, which says a lot about their home programs. They all showed a lot of hustle and heart.

en I guess the best team that I played on was probably the 1984 team. Laying a beating on Hamilton with Dieter Brock was really icing on the cake.

en It's hard to lose in The Brittany. She was such a big part of our team. But we played with sportsmanship and with our heart. They were a good team, but we just didn't hustle like we should have.

en The only thing that matters tonight, and I mean this sincerely, is that we just played a great defensive effort for 40 minutes. It's a great win for that reason. The icing on the cake is 100.

en They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

en We ran into a really strong team. They are the best we have faced all season. I'm extremely proud of the girls. They never quit and were relentless despite being down. They continued to work hard.

en You're happy with the tie because you were down by two with eight minutes to go, but you're not happy that you score five goals and only get a tie. Give our girls credit. We never quit.

en That was an extremely unselfish play. That shows the heart of this team. [Thompson] was injured before that and he still ran down the field. That's what these kids have showed me. They are pure heart and all hustle. They never give up on me, even when we're down.

en That would mean would be icing on the cake. The past 27 years has been the cake, that would be the icing.

en It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. I'm more excited for the kids. I told them I've been there twice as a player. To go as a coach is icing on the cake.

en To be here at all was an amazing experience. We were very happy with how we did, and to have the result that we did was just icing on the cake.

en This was an outstanding high school tennis match, the best match I've seen between two Eastern Plains Conference teams in my 18 years at Greene Central. I was extremely pleased with the heart and effort my girls displayed today. We had to play well today to beat a truly outstanding Tarboro team.

en We had a heart to heart talk at the end of the first. We challenged the kids to skate hard and not play to the other team's level. And we challenged them to be the team they are. We didn't want the kids to quit on themselves. And we refocused and played well.

en We played extremely well for about 30 minutes then we got such a big lead that we quit defending.
