How incredible my players are because for 80 minutes they never quit playing. They were down 4-0 at half and they came back and shut out Clovis 3-0 in the second half. I think that my players are amazing and I am extremely proud of them.

I'm extremely proud of our players and our coaches. Our guys never say die. They came out and played hard in the second half and they never quit.

In the second half our players looked like they didn't want to play hard and pick up another foul. I also think the pressure from Clovis got to our players and the frustration leaked into our defense.

It's not a burden you want the current players to carry. We know what we're trying to do. We made our decision. By most accounts, we're playing one of the toughest I-AA schedules in the country and we're playing with a half deck of cards because we're at half of the scholarships and loaded with lots of young players.

I've played and watched a lot of lacrosse but this was one of the most incredible comebacks I've ever seen. I'm so proud of these players. In the first half it looked like we wouldn't even get a shot on goal let alone score. But we switched some guys around on defense, did a better job of containing and got back in it.

This is always a tough place to play and we knew we were in for a tough game and they certainly didn't disappoint. But I'm very proud of our players. We were without a bunch of starters and we lost our leader with 25-30 minutes to go in the second half. The young players showed some character.

I was really proud of the way our team came out and competed. We kept it close in the first half and set the tempo of the game defensively. Sophia Young is an extremely talented player, and we let her take off a little bit during the last five minutes of the first half.

She (Johnson) called me a week and a half ago. She asked if we could shut it down, or did we need to. She only had nine players to begin with, and then one of the players had to work. She just didn't have enough for a team.

I think when you score first, especially if you do it early, it has an adverse effect because players can say, 'job done'. We knew that was far from the case. At half-time we felt we needed the players to be focused because we had been poor in the first half. We had to wake them up and we definitely started the second half better. We had enough quality in the two goals to do that, although it was a very tense end to the game.

They were playing 30 or 40 minutes with only 10 players. There is no quit in them. We have a problem putting it in the back of the net, but we never give up. ... They just gave it everything they had. This is their third game in three nights.

For the life of me, I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out how to get this team to play hard for 40 minutes. Against BG, we had a great first half and sucked the second half; against these guys, we sucked the first half and had a great second half, but not great enough. We've got a lot of players who just want to participate and don't want to compete.

Overall it's been a surprise, so far. We went 2-1 at a Clovis tournament with some players out of position, junior varsity players who have stepped up and most of our pitching still playing basketball.

We were proud of the players in the first half, and I think offensively we outplayed Warrior Run. Hopefully the first-half performance will carry over to Central Columbia next week.
