en We didn't really look at one of our goals as to win this meet, but it's nice. Zack Buxton's hard work over the summer paid off. I think some of the other guys are in a little better shape than they thought.

en I talked to Johnny and talked to [team medical director] Dr. [Thomas] Gill just now, and Dr. Gill said he's already improving, which is real good news. I don't doubt this will be a few games, but that's a heck of a lot better than the rest of the year.

en Our team was really a combination from a variety of different teams. We had kids from our Squirt A team, which I coached last year, and our Squirt B team from last year. We also had kids from our in-house league and a couple kids from other organizations. The core group came from Squirt A, and the rest came from the other places. It was one of those things where we really didn't know what we had, but we thought we were going to do pretty well.

en I thought I was going to be down for the rest of the year, ... I really did. And maybe come up for September. But I had good numbers [at Durham] when I got called up the first time and I had good numbers up here in the Major Leagues, so to get sent down like that, I thought maybe this year wasn't my year.
