en It was my first time and you don't know how to take that. Whether it's going to be career threatening or if it's something that you got to have surgery on where you might not be able to play. It was luckily something that could be taken care of.

en At this time, we do not consider this a career-threatening injury. The doctors have told us that with rest he will get better and he will be able to play again.

en Cosmetic surgery is more negatively viewed by Americans because it is threatening to become so commonplace. People feel pressured to look a certain way if everyone you know who is 50 is having surgery to look 40.

en The most important thing is that he can use his right arm again. I know he's going to get this surgery to remove the bone spurs. You never know what can happen. You hope after the surgery, a month later, his range of motion is better, he's feeling great and who knows, maybe he can play again. But at this point, it's a quality of life issue. Not a career issue.

en Something came up that nobody had any idea about. There is a time frame in which this will play out in the next couple of days. Shareef is a pro. Hopefully he'll have a long career. He's under contract (to the Nets). Hopefully that's the way it will stay, and he will play long time for us.

en The surgery isn't helping if afterwards, the child needs to come back. These trips are expensive. That's why they select children who won't need care afterwards and can have a normal life following the surgery.
