en We have to do a better job defensively. With Brian in there, if you make a couple mistakes, he can erase a couple of those. We have to really sit down on defense and get a couple stops. We were scoring, but we weren't getting stops. We have to buckle down on that.

en We just have to do a better job defensively. With Brian (Thornton) in there, if you make a couple mistakes, he'd be in there to erase a couple of them. Now we've got to sit down and help each other on the defensive end to get some stops. That's why the game was so close.

en We really played well in the fourth quarter. Sometimes I think our scoring takes away from how well we play defense. We do buckle down defensively and do a good job man-to-man. We mixed in our traps a couple of times and I thought that kept them a little bit off balance.

en Damp had a couple of big blocks and really anchored our defense down the stretch. We had to get a couple of stops down the stretch and that's what we did. We're at our best when everybody is moving because they keep swinging the ball around but nothing's there.

en Our defense kept us in the game. Then finally, we got a couple of good looks and made a couple of good stops at the other end that led to fast breaks. Ethan Burt hit a basket that got us going, and then Austin Kelley went the length of the floor.

en It was one of those games. Neither team played defense tonight.. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. .. It was one of those games where guys were scoring. If we would have made a couple of stops, we would have won the game.

en We made a couple of big plays. We had a couple of stops and that's what we need to do. We need to have guys step up when it really counts, when the game is on the line, and make plays, Tonight we did that.

You consider our youth (four seniors, five freshmen), and this was definitely a learning experience.

We just need to stay focused and come to do it every night. We can't have any letdowns with the spot we're in right now.

en I just think we relaxed a little bit at the offensive end, and we got some stops defensively. That's all basketball is about: scoring at one end and getting stops at the other. And we were able to put a few of those together.

en They had their first-game mistakes last week, and we had our first-game mistakes this week. We're real fast, but it's got to translate into points. I told them, 'We won't win a game unless we get a couple of stops a half.' The second half we weren't even hardly slowing them down.

en We were doing quite well (defensively). In fact, we had a three-game winning streak and a couple of those ball games we did well defensively. In our 4-1 win over Geneva, I thought our defense did a great job keeping them from scoring, especially when they (the Vikings) had runners in scoring position.
