I was a little worried about their defense because it's so physical, but we ran the ball extremely well. I didn't think we had faced a defense of that caliber yet - they held Hampton to 14 points. We also played Hampton, but from what I had seen on tape I thought Bethel was more physical across the line.

We struggled, and I thought Kentucky's tenacity on defense had a lot to do with it. They were swarming and really played physical. I thought their defense impacted us in a big way.

Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They had me scared there on the first two drives. They were throwing the ball short to their halfback (Jason Hampton) and he was real fast. Once he got on the outside and into the secondary he's gone. But our defense stepped it up. Our defensive backs, linebackers and safeties played real well.

I didn't think we'd shut them out, but I thought we could contain them if we played physical inside -- and we did. Coach (Toby) Tabor had the defense ready to go. We have a lot of good athletes out there, and we've got good athletes on the sidelines, too. Our depth is one of our strong points.

Our defense played awfully well. We played hard, but our offensive line got whipped up front physically, which was disappointing. Our defense was the key. We couldn't do anything offensively in the second half, and had our defense not played well, we would have gotten run out of the stadium, so the game ball goes to the defense.
