He took a swing ordsprog

He took a swing in BP today and felt a twinge in his left elbow. We're going to evaluate it as the day goes on. We don't really have any more information than that.

Yesterday he felt a little twinge in his knee. It was pretty well localized to the bottom end of his kneecap, in the patellar tendon. We're going to re-evaluate him in 10 days, two weeks, and hopefully he'll be ready to go by then.

Weird, isn't it? I can swing a bat and not feel anything with my elbow. Right-handed, left-handed, doesn't matter. It feels perfect when I swing.

His (left) elbow is lower than it should be and he's not pitching like he's coming off a slope. At times, his arm was where it was supposed to be ... but his inconsistency with his arm slot is what leads him to throwing pitches that no major-league hitter would swing at.

I now know how Abbot felt when Costello left, how Brinkley felt when Huntley left, how Sears felt when Roebuck left, and, of course, how Dan Rather felt when Connie left.

Anger begins as an inner twinge. We sense something long before it blossoms (explodes?) into an emotional tirade. If we listen to this twinge -- and follow its advice -- the emotional outburst (or in burst) is not needed.

I fixed one little thing that was killing my swing (Wednesday), ... I felt like I had it. I didn't even have to hit balls later in the day. I felt confident out there all day today and knew I could chase pins when I needed to.

I felt like the biggest idiot in the world. You go out there and you swing so easy and nice and compact. And then, you know, you get good results. Whereas the first week, every swing I took was swinging out of my butt. Every swing was trying to hit the ball out of the stadium.

I felt a twinge when I did it, so I came of the game and didn't want to (mess) with it, ... I've been taking my drugs and I feel a little better.
