We want to hit the quarterback as much as we can and give guys in the secondary a little break.

We have to develop our quarterback and our secondary. My biggest concern is the secondary. I'm excited about the young guys. They will compete, that's all I look for.

Our execution was very good in the second quarter in terms of our secondary break and finding the guys in the right position.

Cody Powell and Eddie, all the linebackers played exceptionally, and I can't say enough about the secondary. (Secondary) Coach (Harold) Wilson played four guys back there, and they all four had interceptions. Replacing eight guys, yeah, they've done a super job.

There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

You keep hearing everybody wants a more mobile quarterback, ... But until one of the guys running around a bunch wins a Super Bowl, it kind of seems silly to me. Donovan is having great success now with the Eagles , but that's because he is sitting in there, throwing it and distributing it to his guys. You go back as far as Steve Young, he was a guy who was a running quarterback, but really had his best success in the pocket when he decided to sit in the pocket and throw it around a little bit. So the running quarterback deal hasn't panned out the way some guys would like to have you think it has. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease.

We're thinking about it and talking about it, and we have to get some competition going in the secondary, ... They want to give Travis Williams a look to see if he can compete a little bit. Those guys have talent but they're not playing the way we need back there, so we'll open it up a little.

We didn't give easy throws. Our coverage was pretty good until late and we were able to get to the quarterback. Guys protected well. Clint got rid of the ball well and the guys ran the routes well to get open. We mixed in some runs as well, so I'm pleased with it.

We take pride in what we do in the secondary. That's one of the things. This defense revolves around the secondary's play. And if we don't give up any big plays, we're going to be a tough defense. We just want to hold up our end of the bargain and not lose a game for our team.

Rarely do you have everything come together, a good supporting class and that key quarterback there for three years. Anytime you break in a quarterback, no matter, how talented it's hard to go out and win every game.

All of our guys, both older guys and younger guys, have a lot of work to do. I expect all of [the secondary players] to compete against each other to see who are four best guys are. This is as competitive a spot as there is anywhere on the team.
