His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness. Debra is a very exciting artist. It's an opportunity for us to see someone who is going to be national on a small, local, intimate stage.

I am delighted to be joining Stage Stores at such an exciting time of growth and opportunity. I look forward to working with Jim and the other members of the Stage management team as we strengthen our position as the leading small town retailer of nationally branded family apparel.

It was a truly exciting opportunity in that we were able to not only attract people from not just areas across the border but from around the United States. It's our hope we'll get to take this to a national stage . . . to another level.

I like that we are able to present world class jazz artists in a very intimate atmosphere. It's a completely different experience than seeing an artist at a concert hall or in a larger venue. The audience can feel much more in touch with what's going on stage. They can talk to the artists when they get off stage. It almost feels like sitting at your living room listening to a concert.

Almost, Maine is the best single-ticket-selling show in the history of Portland Stage. It did indeed sell out during its four week run in our season. We, unfortunately, were unable to extend because of its position in the season, but would have loved to do so. Audiences were charmed by the intimate, funny scenes. Many remarked that it was great to see small town U.S.A. reflected so clearly on stage.

The shows at the Hilton are the most exciting shows I've ever done. The stage is huge, but the theater is intimate, so we can have a magnificent production and still connect with the audience.

Barry Manilow (1943-)

It's a win-win situation. I get a soundtrack that is representative of the city I'm filming in and these local artist get national recognition.

Stu Pollard (1967-)

Bush has the opportunity with the national championship game to have an unrivaled platform. If he does use that as his starting point into the professional ranks, he's got a stage. And to have somebody giving him good advice about using that stage accordingly and acting appropriately is not uncommon.

It's a small, intimate space, unique, with its own history. It's a sad time but it's an exciting time also. . . . We won't have to worry about things breaking in the middle of a show. Hopefully, people will get behind it and support it.

Ian Bostridge is an enormously talented artist, hailed as one of the foremost interpreters of the Schubert repertoire today. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to present Mr. Bostridge and celebrated pianist Julius Drake in this uniquely intimate performance.

The work of one author or artist may stimulate another author or artist to push the edge, to take the risk, to go where the field hasn't gone before. The result -- very exciting children's literature and art ... exciting both for the professional and for the intended audience, the children.

We obviously develop business locally by maintaining local relationships and so on, but one of the other things that our size and national presence allows us to do is to go to market through large national partners. This is an advantage to the company [from a] growth prospects standpoint. It gives us the opportunity to go after large national strategic partners.

State and local regulators are the officials with the closest contact with the regulated community, ... Given their close intimate knowledge of the business they regulate, they are in a much better position than Congress to judge whether a particular small business is deserving of leniency for a first-time violation.

Reading it will help explain why small-town elections are best-served tending to their own knitting and not trying to ape the national stage.

It's a bunch of cool things that look huge on a small stage but it's exciting for the kids because it's always changing. You don't have to sit there for an hour-and-a-half and kind of look at the same thing.
